SOMOLU LG CHAIRMAN ‘DULLAR’ HOSTS YEAR 2924 BUDGET STAKEHOLDERS FORUM
Yesterday, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, Chairman of Somolu Local Government, hosted the 2024 Budget Stakeholders Consultative Forum, monitored by the Alhaji Tajudeen Tella-led Community Development Committee (CDC). Over 30 Community Development Associations (CDAs) expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman while articulating additional developmental requests for their communities.
Igbo and Hausa-speaking communities, alongside the Hon. Mike Oikeh-led revenue team from the Somolu Revenue Board, actively participated in the interactive forum. Religious leaders, including Imams and pastors, along with representatives from political, community, traditional, and professional sectors, contributed to the discussions. Noteworthy is the representation of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, artisans, and individuals with disabilities.
Chairman Salawu highlighted priorities for 2024, emphasizing streets like Shiro Street in Fadeyi, Adetayo Osho Street in Fadeyi, and Albert, Olu Ajisegbede, and Emmanuel Streets in Ijebutedo.
The Executive Chairman informed the forum about the ongoing transformation of Somolu Local Government Secretariat into a four-floor building with a multipurpose hall, set for commissioning before mid-2024. He expressed gratitude to stakeholders and the community for their indispensable role in the administration’s achievements.
Key figures, including Hon. Afolarin Olubiyi, Hon. Ayodele Afolabi, the Hon. Yomi Osunkoya-led Somolu Legislative Council members, and the management team, attended. The event, anchored by media professionals Samiat Oki-Shoye and Owolabi ‘Ajimomuya’ Oseni, received accolades from the ruling All Progressives Congress. In her vote of thanks, Council Manager Mrs. Arinola Shodipo expressed her enduring connection to Somolu, pledging to remain close even after her retirement in a few weeks.
