The First Lady of the Arab Republic of Egypt Entissar Amer El-Sisi says she is ready to join hands with the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu in various areas of common interest.
She was speaking during a courtesy visit to Nigerias First lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu after the African First Ladies Pre-conference high level meeting held in Zimbabwe ahead of the commencement of the 22nd International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa, ICASA.
Entissar Amer El-Sisi through her representative, Enginner Nevine Osman, Secretary General of the Egyptian National Council for Childhood and Motherhood noted that the two nations share a lot in common and one which stands out is the entrepreneurial prowess of their women.
She said Egypt has skills in the area of textile designs and weaving and will be willing to share same with Nigerian women especially through the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, of the First Lady as one of its scopes is Economic Empowerment.
The representative of Egypt’s First Lady noted that she would have loved to participate at the meeting but she had to join her husband in getting ready for their re-election bid as election comes up between the 10th to 12th of December in Egypt.
Responding, the First Lady of the Federal republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu re- emphasized that if the women are well empowered, then the nation would be on course to economic vibrancy.
She thanked the First Lady of Egypt and noted that it would be a welcome development to have the collaboration.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu said with the renewed commitment to wipe out HIV/AIDS, Syphilis and Hepatitis in Africa, the war is almost won.
She wished the First Lady, Entissar Amer El-Sisi and her husband, the President all the best at the forthcoming elections in Egypt.
