Lagos APC Dismisses ADC Coalition as “Still-Born”, Labels Members Political Pretenders

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its newly-formed coalition, describing the alliance as a “still-born” political experiment lacking structure, credibility, and relevance in Nigeria’s political space.

In a statement signed by the party’s spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the APC dismissed the ADC’s attempt to rebrand itself through a coalition, labeling it a “desperate move by political journeymen” who have no ideological clarity or electoral worth.

“The ADC, over the years, has failed to define its place in Nigeria’s political evolution. It remains a haven for disgruntled politicians who see coalition-building as a shortcut to power,” Oladejo stated.

The APC accused members of the ADC-led coalition of playing on the intelligence of Nigerians by simultaneously maintaining membership in other political parties — a move the ruling party described as “political bigamy” and a breach of ethical standards.

As Nigeria undergoes what the APC described as “tough but necessary reforms” under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, the party urged opposition actors to rise above “partisan noise” and contribute meaningfully to national discourse.

Oladejo added that the APC in Lagos, regarded as the cradle of progressive politics, remains undeterred by what he termed “political gimmickry from fringe parties,” emphasizing that the party is focused on delivering good governance and supporting the president’s Renewed Hope agenda.

He further called on Nigerians to be wary of political alliances formed merely out of ambition rather than a commitment to national development.

“The future of this country lies in tested leadership, credible policies, and a united national direction — none of which the ADC offers,” the statement concluded.
