DAY FAMILY, FRIENDS SURPRISED HAKEEM BELLO WITH A CELEBRATION

It was a night of tributes and accolades as family, friends, colleagues and well wishers converged to celebrate a media icon, Editor and Communications Consultant, Alhaji Hakeem Bello on his 61st Birthday anniversary.

It was indeed a surprise Birthday Dinner for the Special Adviser on Media & Communications to the Lagos State Governor ( 2007-2015) and Hon. Minister of the Federal Republic (2015 – 2023), Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN.

The get together which held at the prestigious TILAPIA & TINZ African Signature, GRA, Ikeja was beautifully organised by the wife, Engr. (Mrs) Habeebat Bello and daughter, Barakat Bello and her siblings.

Imam Hakeem Kosoko, a friend to the celebrant set the pace for the gathering with a special prayer before the array of Guests took their turns in pouring encomium on the 61 year old but looking 40 clad in white Agbada with a touch of Gold cap.

In his response, the celebrant, a former Editor of the organic Daily Times, Fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management and Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations said that he had no inkling of what was coming up on his birthday anniversary adding that he was only looking forward to the usual Birthday Cake in the morning. He explained that he had been told that that they were heading for a wedding dinner of Engineer Bello colleague’s daughter and was shocked to find himself in the presence of well respected family members, professional colleagues and friends on getting to the venue.

He thanked all the Guests for sparing their time to honour him and the entire Bello family.

In her vote of thanks, Alhaja Habeebat Bello who was very excited on the success of the surprise birthday bash noted that it would have been organised last year but shelved due to the family’s vacation outside the country.

She described her husband as a committed and hardworking media professional, noting that this has often resulted in his being away from home for long periods. She however added that despite this, Alhaji Bello is a family man who caters to the needs of the immediate and extended families while also monitoring the progress of his children in their academic and professional pursuits.
