Everlastimg Fountain Welfare Initiative Commences Construction of 500-Capacity Shelter and Empowerment Centre in Ogun
In a major move to combat homelessness and extreme poverty, a faith-based non-governmental organization, the Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative (EFWI), has officially laid the foundation for its flagship project: the Everlasting Shelters for Homeless and Underprivileged.
Spanning hectares of land in Obafe Town, in the Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, the ambitious facility is designed to accommodate and rehabilitate up to 500 displaced individuals and families.
The project is deeply rooted in EFWI’s core mission: to actively bridge the gap for those experiencing extreme hardship by providing essential nutritional support, welfare programs, and safe housing, ensuring that the basic needs of the underprivileged are met with dignity and compassion.
Representing a beacon of selfless service, the organization has consistently delivered food distribution, clothing, medical assistance, and counseling to vulnerable communities, gradually expanding its impact to a national scale.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony over the weekend, the Founder of EFWI, Mrs. Abiola Adeniyi, emphasized that the shelter is not just about putting a roof over people’s heads, but about total life transformation.
“Beyond providing temporary accommodation, this facility will serve as a comprehensive rehabilitation and empowerment center,” Adeniyi explained. “We are setting up vocational training programs in tailoring, shoemaking, hairdressing, soap production, and decoration. Crucially, the project also features a farming institute that will equip residents with vital agricultural skills, empowering them to grow their own food and achieve long-term sustainable living.”
Expressing immense gratitude for the seamless journey and the the Founder appealed to well-meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies, and government authorities at all levels to collaborate with EFWI to ensure the swift and successful completion of the sanctuary.
Also addressing the gathering, the Patron of the foundation, Prince Victor Adeniyi, recounted the organization’s humble beginnings and the divine intervention that has propelled their vision forward. He noted that the initiative was born out of a desire to cure the anxiety of tomorrow that plagues the less privileged.
“People struggle not just because of what they will eat today, but because of the deep uncertainty about their future. This reality inspired us to act—to restore hope, reintegrate broken lives, and support those in dire need,” he said.
Prince Adeniyi reflected on EFWI’s track record of impact, which began in 2021 with the ‘Youth Against Idleness’ program in Magboro. NGO has successfully provided accommodation, funded school fees, and empowered vulnerable youths. He extended profound appreciation to all supporters, particularly members of the New Covenant Church, for turning a dream that started in a living room into a monumental reality.
Once completed, the Everlasting Shelters will stand as a premier sanctuary in the region, offering the homeless and less privileged a genuine pathway to restoration, empowerment, and a renewed sense of purpose.
