FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU CONDOLES WITH JIGAWA GOVERNOR, WIFE OVER DEMISE OF SON
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has visited the Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, and his wife, Hajia Hadiza Umar Namadi, to commiserate with them over the unfortunate demise of their son, Abdulwahab.
The First Lady, who was accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abass, noted that the length of a man’s days is determined solely by God. She emphasized that no one can question His decision on when to call someone back home.
“God owns us all. God assigned time to us all. He can call anyone home at any time,” she said.
The First Lady added, “God will comfort you and the entire state. I pray my next visit here will be a joyous one.”
In his brief remarks, the Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her personal visit, describing it as the highest level of condolence. He affirmed that the passing of his son and his mother, which occurred a day apart, was an act of God that he and his family have accepted.
Governor Namadi also extended his appreciation to the President of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for personally calling to condole with him, and to the First Lady for her heartfelt gesture.
Prayers were offered for the family and the state by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima.
The Governor’s mother, Hajia Maryam Namadi, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, after an illness, while his son, Abdulwahab, tragically died in a ghastly motor accident on Thursday, December 26. Abdulwahab was 24 years old.
