Tope Osoba Demise, Clarification by the Osoba Family
PUBLIC STATEMENT
Wednesday, 12th August, 2026
Tope, a responsible daughter of the Osoba family of Abeokuta, Ogun State passed away under a very unfortunate and sad circumstances on Tuesday, 4th August, 2026 following a long spell of emotional distress inflicted by unmanaged worries, depression and self medication. Tope during her lifetime though a highly cerebral and resourceful daughter, later became emotionally dysfunctional after the death of her biological mother compounded by her sad experience with cancer, from which she later recovered temporarily.
It could be recalled that sometimes in May 2025, months after severing relationship with her maternal family in Iperu and also barring their telephone lines, Tope had appealed to her paternal Aunt, Revd Mother Kehinde Osoba Eritosin to reintegrate her back into the Osoba family for parental attention and care as her life experiences had become mostly unpalatable and worrisome. Since then she has been confiding in Revd Mother Kehinde Osoba about her life situations and marital troubles, always requesting her to intervene in her life matters.
In actual fact and with video evidence, Tope had made a frantic call to Mother Osoba on Friday, 31st July, 2026 to intervene in her worsening health and marital situations with her fiancee with whom she had cohabited for about two years . Again, while receiving treatment and medical drips for an undisclosed illness on Sunday, 2nd August, 2026 Tope reached out to Mummy Osoba to speak with her fiancee and later sent her fiancee number to mummy Osoba to speak with him.
Moved by Tope’s struggle with worsening life situations as well as her frosty relationship with family members of her fiancee, Mummy Osoba, Tope’s adopted mother, immediately put a call through to Tope’s Fiancee and asked him to see her urgently on Tope’s matter but unfortunately, as fate would have it, he promised to see mother Osoba on the following Tuesday that Tope died.
It’s worthy of note that Revd Mother Osoba given her blood relationship with Tope and being a Vessel of God had wholeheartedly embraced Tope as her adopted daughter after consultations with key family members and therefore introduced Tope to her children and consequently added Tope to their family chat group so as to be able to monitor, guide and look after her effectively. Therefore, Tope had since then essentially kept in touch with Mummy Osoba as her adopted Mother.
For instance, about five weeks ago, mother Osoba bought and sent Tope an Aso ebi of their family function in Victoria Island, Lagos, which Tope eventually could not collect from the dispatch rider. It will also be recalled that the week before the sudden loss of Tope, Mother Osoba had invited Tope’s Fiancée for an urgent meeting a week before Tope’s sudden death following some disturbing expressions and voice notes about Tope’s worsening health conditions and death messages from Tope. But her fiancee could not make it before Tope passed on Tuesday
On the fateful Tuesday of Tope’s unexpected demise, Mother Osoba received a sudden call from Tope’s female Friend and Hair dresser that Tope couldn’t sleep throughout Monday night and was acting strangely, saying funny things about death and therefore needed urgent medical attention. So, Mummy Osoba requested that Tope be brought to her Church In Ikorodu immediately for proper medical and spiritual care instead of taking her all about though she was not aware that they have also invited maternal cousins of Tope too to come over, since they said Tope was saying frightening things about dying
However, Revd Mother Osoba, a senior C&S Minister and global prophetess was already involved and busy attending the 8 days Service of Songs ceremony for Late Baba Aladura Alogbo, Supreme Head of C&S Unification Church, who passed on to glory the previous week at Abule Egba area of Lagos State. Suddenly, after some time on Tuesday, Mother Osoba, in the course of the prevailing Meeting of C&S Unification on that Tuesday, received a call from the DPO Igbogbo Police Station In Ikorodu that there was a certain Tope Osoba in their custody accompanied by some persons and that they claimed they were coming to her place but were being held for causing some pandemonium in the Traffic around Ita Elewa area of Ikorodu as Tope acted strangely in the Traffic, came out of the vehicle and started screaming loudly as though something was amiss.
Mummy Osoba however confirmed to the DPO on phone that Tope was actually her daughter and that she would join them at the police station but when she encountered traffic delay in getting to Ikorodu from Abule Egba where the C&S unification meeting held, she pleaded with the DPO that they should be released and Tope be taken to her church in Ikorodu and that she would join them at the church for proper care and treatment. According to the Police, Tope was released to her friend and her two maternal sisters, who had since joined them at the police station from their base in Sagamu on the intervention of Mother Kehinde Osoba, who had gone to attend C&S Unification Programme over the demise of the Supreme Leader of the C&S Unification Church (Baba Olori) in Abule Egba Axis of Lagos.
However, rather than wait for Mother Osoba at her church to arrive from the C&S meeting at Abule Egba, Tope’s handlers, perhaps in anxiety, after waiting at the Church for some time decided to take Tope to another spiritual person at a celestial church In Ikorodu, where they said she was prayed for and some water and drinks were given to her after which her maternal cousins decided to take her to their place in Sagamu.
Several calls by Revd Mother Osoba to the lines of both Tope and her friend on her way back from Abule Egba that same day were unanswered. Unknowing to her, Tope’s maternal cousins had come to join her at the Police Station in Ikorodu and had decided to take her to their place in Sagamu with Tope,s consent, they said. Subsequently, they said Tope later had strange body reactions and health relapse in the vehicle after taking some cold water and later became uncomfortable, stretching and knocking her cousins together in the vehicle on their way to Sagamu after which her cousins hurriedly decided to take her to their hospital in Sagamu for medical attention.
According to her maternal cousins, it was at their private hospital in Sagamu that the doctor realizing that Tope’s condition had become critical that she was referred them to Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, OSUTH in Sagamu for better Medicare. However, on getting to OSUTH, according to those with her. Tope passed away in the vehicle even before she was attended to by the Doctors at OSUTH
However, it was when Mother Osoba, the following day, on Wednesday, again started trying the number of Tope’s friend that she picked up and broke the sad news of Tope’s unexpected death to Mummy Osoba and said they tried to reach her before they decided to leave her church in Ikorodu and since they couldn’t reach her they decided to take Tope to her maternal relatives in Sagamu and that Tope gave up the ghost inside the vehicle in Sagamu.
The above clarifications have become necessary as we will like all sympathizers and the general public to be calm and allow us mourn our daughter at this very sad period of her unexpected death. God is the ultimate giver and taker of life and it will not be a honor to Tope to sensationalize her demise in the social media but to give her a befitting burial so that her soul can rest in peace.
On this note, We wish to thank all her friends, colleagues, associates and fans, who have sympathized over the sudden loss of Tope as well the general public for their genuine concern and support during this trying time of our family.
A memorial service, after due consultation, will be organised for Tope Osoba at a date to be announced soon by the Osoba family.
May Her Great Soul Rest In Peace. Amen
Signed
