Former kwara APC Chair, Bolarinwa commends Tinubu for emerging Thisday Man of the Year

A former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara state, Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the Thisday Newspaper Man of the Year Award.

Thisday Newspaper on Wednesday January first announced the President as the winner of the prestigious Award.

Commenting at a gathering in Ilorin, Bolarinwa believed the honour done to Mr. President was based on his courageous decision on some policies which his predecessors have shied away from.

He said that the bold step taken by the President in the removal of fuel subsidy, though painful at the initial stage had put an end to heavy grand corruption in the sector and had provided more money to government at all levels for more development. It is cheering that the commencement of operations of state owned refineries is slowly bringing down the prices of petroleum.

Hon. Bolarinwa listed the floatation of the naira which allowed it to find its true value to the dollar as one of the bold steps taken by the President.
Also mentioned is the pursuit and attainment of financial autonomy for Local Government to rescue the councils from the stranglehold of the governors.
This will improve security, food sufficiency and ultimately the country’s GDP.

The former National Broadcasting Commission ( NBC ) Chairman, Hon. Bolarinwa added that the introduction of the Tax Reform Bills was aimed to address the injustice and inequalities in our tax system while urging those who opposed it to consider the advise to approach the National Assembly to present their views for necessary amendments if need be.

He concluded that, it would take a bold and courageous man like Tinubu to break the glass ceiling.
