FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU SPREADS CHRISTMAS JOY, CALLS FOR LOVE AND UNITY AT CHILDRENβS BRUNCH
The spirit of Christmas filled the air at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja as Nigeriaβs First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, hosted a special Christmas brunch for children from two foster homes.
In her message, Senator Oluremi Tinubu called on Nigerians to embrace the essence of the seasonβlove, compassion, and unityβurging everyone to make every day like Christmas.
βChristmas should remind us to love our neighbours and go all out to help others. Next year, letβs make it a year of love and a cleaner, greener Nigeria,β she said.
The First Lady highlighted the Federal Governmentβs commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians and assured that these efforts would continue with renewed vigour in the new year. She described 2025 as a year of hope, love, and the manifestation of Godβs goodness in the nation.
Senator Tinubu also encouraged the children to show love to their friends, siblings, and neighbours, exemplifying the teachings of Christ, who is the reason for the Christmas season. βThe reason we are all here is to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ,β she said.
During the event, she read from her book, The Christmas Story, which reimagines the birth, life, and times of Jesus using Nigerian characters. The book delivers a relatable message of hope and purpose, and the First Lady also engaged the children by answering their questions.
The children, who were from the Abuja Childrenβs Home and the Vine Heritage Home Foundation (VHHF), participated in a national anthem contest, winning cash prizes. They were also treated to gifts, food, and drinks, leaving the event with smiles and joy.
While addressing journalists after the event, the First Lady reflected on her personal journey and encouraged Nigerians to approach the new year with optimism, faith, and hard work.
As the children departed with gifts and laughter, the First Ladyβs message remained clear: Christmas is a time to share love, spread hope, and work together for a brighter future.
