Oriade LCDA holds Stakeholder’s forum ahead of construction of Ade- Oshodi street seeks support of Residents
The authority of Oriade LCDA has assured that the construction of Ade Oshodi street off Ijegun Egba road of the council will be completed within the earmarked period of six months.
The council chairman, Ramotalahi Akinlola gave this assurance in a mesage to the stakeholders meeting with residents ahead of the commencement of the road project.
Represented by the Council Manager, Akitoye Semiu, the Chairman assured that the project will not be abandoned adding funds for the project is available.
She explained that the project is fully financed by Oriade LCDA but in collaboration with the Lagos State Government.
The council boss said that there will be some level of pains but lot of gains at the end of the day for all parties.
According to her, the state government had no intention to destroy the property of the residents but noted that they will need to sacrifice for smooth delivery of the project.
On his part, the Oriade Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure, Tunde Musa explained that Ade Oshodi street is among the 114 Roads to be constructed across the Local Government Areas in the state.
He decsribed it a major road that links the Ijegun Egba community to the Navy Town.
The Super for Works and Infrastructure beleive that the road will lead to economic development of the area after completion while soliciting the cooperation of residents to ensure smooth delivery of the project.
He insists that the Contractor must adhere to the specification agreed on the road project.
One of the residents of the LCDA, Ibrahim Kajola asked the contractor if new drainage channel would be constructed for free flow of water.
Another resident, Emmanuel Wisdom described the project as a welcome development but said that the council should not only be seen during election.
Adding his voice on the side of the stakeholders, Wale Oladeyi urged residents to protect the property and see it as belonging to them.
Speaking on behalf of the Contractor, Jidsma Engineering Nigeria Limited, the Director of Engineering Services, Eng Adeyinka Odunsi assured of timely completion of the project.
He said that the contractor will ensure the best service done on the road project.
Engineer Odunsi however appealed for maximum suport of the community in order to complete the job in good time.
The flag off of the construction of Ade Oshodi street off Ijegun Egba road in Oriade LCDA will commence on Wednesday.
