Residents of Oriade LCDA converges to brainstorm on implementation of 2024 fiscal Budget, submit list of needs

Ahead of the passage of the 2024 Budget in Oriade Local Council Development Area, residents have converged to brainstorm on how to ensure that it meets the expectations of the people.

The stakeholders forum was also to ensure full implementatoon of the council’s 2024 fiscal Budget.

While speaking at the forum held within the council secretariat, the Exxecutive Chairman, Hon Ramatallahi Akinola–Hassan said the Budget tagged “Budget of Realisation” was to consolidate on the achievements made in the past years.

She said that her administration believes in full practice of democracy, reason why they initiate the stakeholder’s forum.

According to the council boss, the Local Government mplemented projects across the wards in the outgoing year 2023 based on funds available.

Hon Ramattalahi Akinola-Hassan listed some of the projects immplemented in 2023 to include the commissioning of 2,000 capacity Senator Oluremi Tinunu modern Towh Hall, ongoing construction of Ultra modern Primary Health Care centre, Legislative Chambers,, rehabilitation of several roads including Assembly and Dupe Otedola Roads in Satellite Town.

She announced a palliative of #25,000 each to 1,000 residents of the local government to reduce the pains of fuel subsidy removal among residents.

She explained that the current economic hardship in the country is not peculiar to Nigeria alone adding global recession is real.

The council boss assured that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making all efforts to bring dividends of democracy to the people by improving on power supply and bring the ailing refineries back to life.

She appealed to residents to also live up to their responsibilities by paying levies and taxes for the council to have resources to fast track execution of projects.

Speaking on the importance of the stakeholders forum, Mr Femi Lamina said it was to demonstrate transparency and accountability by the leadership of the council.

He urged residents to understand between their needs and wants since no amount of money at the disposal of the council that can execute all the required projects in the council.

Femi Lamina however encouraged residents to stop payments of legal taxes of the council to impostors or wrong hands.

Leadership of various Community Development Association at the forum submitted Memorandum based on their needs to the council.
