Oke-Odo High School Old Students Association Elects New Executives; Bello Salami as President


Mr. Bello Olanrewaju Salami has emerged the new President of Oke-Odo High School Old Students Association, Ebute Metta after a keenly contested election within the school premises.

He defeated Olusegun Owaseye Joseph with 40 to 20 votes.

Declaring the results, the Chairman of the Electoral body, Raymond Nkem Obi assisted by Ariyo Adekunle described the process as transparent, fair and just.

While handing over the mantle of leadership, former President of the association, Alhaji dowu Adenekan solicited full support for the incoming executive.

He equally urged members to continue to perform their constitutional duties including prompt payment of annual dues for the overall success of the association.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Bello Salami promised to run open an door system and carry everyone along in the delivery of his programmes

He assured members not to fail them adding they will be left with no other choice than to return his executive after the first two years in office.

Bello Salami disclosed that the leadership of the association expect members to give constructive criticism and advise regularly.

Other elected executive members are; Iyabode Nwokolo as Vice President; Omobola Akinnola, General Secretary; Adewale Atinuke as Assistant General Secretary; Olaniran Mobolaji elected as Financial Secretary while Agnes Imoudu as Treasurer.

Others are OjatunwasevOluwajoba who is the new Public Relations Officer; Femi Adesanya as Internal Auditor;; and Lawal Kuburat Olawunmi took the position of Social Secretary.

Our correspondent reports that 77 members were accredited, 62 voted while 15 absent from the exercise.
