Toke Benson-Awoyinka Drives Global Partnerships to Position Lagos as Africa’s Creative and Tourism Capital

The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, continues to make strategic strides in positioning Lagos as Africa’s foremost tourism and creative hub.

On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, the Commissioner held a high-level meeting with the Vice President for Growth and Partnerships, Rolling Stone Africa, Mrs. Itohan Barlow-Ndukuba, and the Chief Executive Officer of Glam Brand Agency, Mrs. Bola Balogun.

The meeting focused on advancing cultural storytelling, deepening diaspora engagement, and exploring global partnership opportunities aimed at elevating Lagos’ creative and tourism sectors.

The engagement forms part of the Lagos State Government’s deliberate efforts to boost tourism, showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage, and expand its global cultural footprint.

Under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State continues its transformation into a globally admired city driven by innovation, inclusiveness, and the preservation of its diverse cultural identity.

Through strategic collaborations, the state aims to attract investment, engage both local and international audiences, and create sustainable opportunities for economic growth within the tourism and creative economy.
