Green House Dominates as At-Tanzeel Schools Hosts Maiden Inter-House Sports Competition
The maiden edition of the Inter-House Sports Competition organised by At-Tanzeel Schools has produced Green House as the overall winner of the event.
Green House students clinched a total of 52 medals, comprising 23 gold, 13 silver, and 16 bronze, at the colourful competition held at the Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex, Lagos.
Yellow House finished second with 45 medals, made up of 23 gold, eight silver, and 14 bronze. Purple House placed third, securing 11 gold, 25 silver, and 16 bronze medals, while Orange House came fourth with nine gold, 19 silver, and 18 bronze medals, totalling 46.
In his address, the Chairman, Board of Directors, At-Tanzeel Schools, Saheed Bashir, described the historic occasion as a significant milestone in the school’s journey. He noted that the institution is deliberate about nurturing learners who are confident, resilient, responsible, and globally aligned with international best practices.
According to him, although the school is firmly rooted in strong Islamic values, sports and physical education remain vital to achieving its vision.
Bashir also expressed deep appreciation to parents and corporate organisations for their generous sponsorship, which he said added colour and excellence to the landmark event.
Speaking earlier, the Head of School, Hakeem Bolaji Isioye, described the competition as an avenue for discovering new sporting talents, adding that Islam encourages physical fitness as a pathway to sound mental wellbeing.
The Sports Coordinator, Ademola Quam Elebute, observed that the competition went beyond athletic displays, describing it as a celebration of discipline, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.
Parents, guardians, and friends were present in large numbers to cheer their respective houses.
Students competed in various track and field events, including the 100m, 200m, and 400m races, the 4×400m relay, and long jump. Indoor games featured lawn tennis, free throw, discus, and high jump.
Green House was named after Alhaji Mukadam Abdul-Rauf Lawal; Yellow House was known as the First Adequate House; Purple House represented AKModel Group; while Orange House was Infonomics House.
