Itire-Ikate Executive Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, Presents Proposed 2025 “Budget of Forward-Thinking” to Legislative Arm
The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has presented the proposed 2025 Appropriation Bill to the Legislative Arm.
In his presentation, the Chairman reiterated that the budget is built on three pillars: Sustainable Growth, Advancing Development, and Empowerment. He emphasized that the aim is to sustain the economic advancement of residents, especially during these challenging times, by bridging the gap between the rich and the poor. He described it as a deliberate effort to consolidate the gains of the past while ensuring a seamless handover to the next administration.
Highlighting the success of the outgoing 2024 budget, particularly in key sectors such as education, health, environment, and empowerment, the Chairman gave a summary of the proposed 2025 budget estimates.
The proposed 2025 budget size is estimated at ₦7,268,017,430.98. Of this amount:
•Recurrent Expenditure is expected to account for ₦4,068,418,830.43 (56% of the total budget).
•Capital Expenditure is projected at ₦3,199,598,600.55 (44% of the total budget).
The Chairman assured residents that the budget is designed to deliver the dividends of democracy and to reduce poverty to its barest minimum.
He also expressed gratitude to the community for their contributions and cooperation during his tenure, promising not to disappoint them as he embarks on his next political journey.
The Leader of the Legislative Arm, while acknowledging receipt of the proposed budget, pledged to expedite its passage after thorough review. He thanked the Chairman, the community, and all stakeholders for their continuous support and understanding since the beginning of their tenure.
