2027 Presidential Election: First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Attends North-Central Tinubu/Shettima Endorsement Rally

Says “From Reforms to Prosperity” is now becoming Nigeria’s reality

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will fulfil his October 1 Independence Day pledge to move Nigeria from reforms to prosperity if re-elected for a second term in 2027.

The First Lady spoke in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday at the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network’s grand rally in support of the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The rally attracted a large turnout of party faithful from across the North-Central geopolitical zone. It was also attended by top party leaders, including the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma; and governors from the region, among others.

According to the First Lady, President Tinubu believes in the unity, security and prosperity of Nigeria.

“The Independence Day message of Mr President was titled ‘From Reforms to Prosperity’. Therefore, Mr President is saying that they are going to reform the sector, but now is the time for prosperity, and we can see our economy is stabilising,” she said.

“Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our farmers, too, are benefiting. You can see all our governors here; they are doing infrastructural development like no other time before.”

Senator Tinubu also highlighted the administration’s efforts to address food insecurity, noting that the government was providing nutritional support to vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.

“As you see now, we have just finished the food bank programme, where we are helping every child and mothers who are pregnant and also breastfeeding,” she said.

“This is to ensure that they can have more nutritious food, and also the children who are malnourished can get treatment and food to grow healthy.”

She added that the administration was also supporting young people in schools, although she did not provide further details.

The First Lady urged party members to return to their respective states and communicate the administration’s achievements to the people, describing President Tinubu as a bold leader capable of making difficult decisions.

“One thing I want to say is that as we all go back to our various states, tell everyone that Mr President Bola Tinubu is a leader who is very bold. As we can see, he will not stop by being at home to take difficult decisions. He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity,” she said.

She charged residents of the North-Central region to mobilise support for the President and Vice President, expressing optimism that their re-election would bring further improvements.

Senator Tinubu said the administration was committed to building a stronger economy, safer communities and a greater Nigeria.

“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity. Vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom,” she urged.

Other speakers at the rally echoed the call for continuity, expressing confidence that votes for President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general elections would help sustain the administration’s policies and programmes.
