2027: SANWO-OLU WILL HAND OVER TO ME, IT IS BADAGRY’S TURN — AJOSE

Lagos State governorship aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has declared that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would hand over power to him in 2027, insisting that it was Badagry’s turn to produce the next governor of the state.

Ajose made the declaration during a solidarity meeting held in Badagry where a coalition of religious, ethnic and community groups endorsed his aspiration ahead of the APC governorship primaries scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The coalition comprised Muslim and Christian groups, traditional worshippers, Hausa, Fulani, Igbo and other communities, as well as representatives of the traditional quarters in Badagry Town.

Speaking at the gathering, Ajose expressed appreciation to the various groups for their support and urged them to translate their endorsement into action during the party primaries.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu will hand over to me as governor of Lagos State. It is my turn,” he declared to cheers from supporters.

An elated Ajose told the gathering that Badagry had remained loyal to the progressive government in Lagos State over the years and deserved the opportunity to produce the next governor for the benefit of all Lagosians.

According to him, his emergence would not only bring development to Badagry Division but also ensure inclusiveness and balanced representation across the state.l

Ajose also urged party members and residents of the division to remain united and committed ahead of the APC primary election.

Several traditional and religious leaders attended the event, including the Chief Imam of Badagry Division, Sheikh AbdulHakeem Uwais Akewusola, alongside leaders of Christian organisations, market groups and representatives of different ethnic nationalities.
