FoodClique Hails National Food Bank Launch, Inauguration of Trust Fund Trustees by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu

The FoodClique Support Initiative has commended the launch of the National Food Bank Programme and the inauguration of its Trust Fund Trustees by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, describing the move as a major step toward addressing food insecurity across the country.

The organisation gave the commendation during one of its outreach programmes in Makoko, noting that the initiative represents a significant intervention aimed at ensuring equitable access to nutrition and supporting vulnerable communities.
Speaking at the outreach, the Chief Executive Officer of FoodClique Support Initiative, Ibrahim Onilegbale, described the programme as a “game changer” in the fight against hunger in Nigeria. He said the initiative is both timely and impactful, adding that it signals a strong national commitment to tackling food insecurity at its root.

“We are optimistic about the transformational impact this programme will have on Nigerians,” Onilegbale stated.
Also speaking, the Head of Programmes at the organisation, Faruk Adetola, commended the structure and vision behind the National Food Bank Programme, noting its potential for sustainable impact. He emphasised the importance of strategic partnerships and transparency in ensuring the success of the initiative.

Adetola further affirmed the organisation’s readiness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to expand the reach and effectiveness of the programme.

He added that FoodClique Support Initiative remains committed to advancing efforts aimed at combating hunger, stressing that collective action is essential to building a future where no one is left behind.
