Sanwo-Olu tasks newly-sworn-in LASIEC board on transparency

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has urged the new board members of Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to take advantage of innovative technologies to drive development.

Three permanent secretaries were also sworn in at the ceremony.

The governor urged the new LASIEC board led by the retired Justice Bola Ighile to prioritise transparency and innovativeness.

Sanwo-Olu charged them to uphold the principles of democracy by ensuring free and fair council elections.

“I charge you to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

“You are the new role models for the entire public service. Your conduct both on and off duty must reflect the values of integrity and transparency.

” Accountability must not be far away from you, and we believe this is the minimum that Lagos State demands of you,” Sanwo-Olu said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the other members of the board are Mr Samson Ajibade, Secretary; Mr Akeem Durojaye, Mr Olumide Metileku, Mr Habeeb Ayileru and Mr Oladele Adekanye.

The governor also advised the permanent secretaries to be creative in order to effectively drive the state’s THEMES Plus Agenda.
