The Muslim Public Affairs Centre has renewed call for an immediate genuine ceasefire in the ongoing Israeli bombardment of the Palestinian terroritories especially Gaza under the guise of fighting Hamas group.
It also maintained that the solution to the crisis in the middle east remain the recognition of the state of Palestine proffered in the two-state solution recommended in many quarters.
The Executive Chairman of MPAC, Mr. Disu Kamor stated these while leading other Islamic Groups at the Media Briefing tagged #Nigeria4Gaza held at the Bab-Es-Salaam Orphanage, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
He said that it was unfortunate that the international community has emboldened Israel’s brutal occupation resulting in the unimaginable sufferings for the Palestinian people.
According to him, over 45,000 people mostly children and women have been killed in Gaza alone while more than 100,000 injured, thousands more under the rubble and two million Palestine forcibly displaced as the West Bank faces daily aggression.
He therefore called on governments around the world to trecognise Palestinian rights to statehood and take immediate action that will allow humanitarian aid gets to necesary areas in Gaza
Mr. Disu kamor equally demanded for sanction on Israel to curb their excesses adding the unconditional support for Israel by the west is clear.
Quoting the international law, the MPAC boss noted that territories are not allowed to be acquired by force stressing that under the UN Resolution Israel has demonstrated clear violation of that law.
He was also of the view that the border for the two nations when the two-state solution is implemented should be according to what existed before 1967.
Disu Kamor told the gathering that it was on record that the US alone vetoed over 53 UN Security Council Resolutions since 1950 shielding Israel from accountability and sanctions for its war crimes espite preaching human rights and freedom for all.
The MPAC Executive Chairman insisted that this is not a Muslim or Palestinian course but human course as every living soul on the planet should enjoys their human rights and freedom.
Going back into the history, Disu Kamor said that the birth of Israel in 1948 brought about expulsion of Palestinians from their ancestral lands and agonising reminder that fight against injustice no no bounds.
He however commended the position of the Federal Government on the crisis during the last UN Security Council but want a step further using diplomacy to make Israel shaethe her sword.
On the return of President Donald Trump in January, MPAC believes that this will not change the optics as the political decisions of US is that Palestine should be destroyed if they are not ready to concede their lands to Israel.
Speaking on behalf of the Academy, Iposu Qasim said that it was sickening and appalling that children and women are killed on daily basis around Palestinian territories despite being unarmed.

He want US President elect, Donald Trump to live up to his campaign promise of ensuring permanent peace return to the Middle East.
According to him, over a year that the war on Gaza had continued, it has shattered the future of young innocent lives in the area adding sadly that some people chose to remember what happed on October 7, 2023 forgetting the history behind it since 1948.
He noted that Israel has taken over some parts of Syria too since the collapse of the reign of President Bashir Al-Assad.
While adding her voice to the struggle, the National President of Al-Muminat, Jelilat Abdulhammed stressed the need to stand up for the innocent children and women being killed on a daily basis in Gaza.
