YOMAFA holds 2024 Awards as Epe, Lagos Island East and Ifako Ijaye LG shines
The Chairman of Epe Local Government Area,Hon. Surah Olayemi Animashaun has attributed the success of her administration to the unalloyed support and cooperation enjoyed from residents of the area
She stated this after receiving Award as the Best Performing Female Council Chairman in Lagos State at the YOMAFA Global Awards 2024 held at the OSTRA Halls, Ikeja, Lagos.
Two other Council Chairmen from Lagos Island East, Hon Muibi Folawiyo bagged the Best Performing Council Chairman while Usman Hamzat from Ifako Ijaye was also honoured with the Nigerian Most Outstanding Council Chairman at the Award ceremony.
In her acceptance speech, Surah Animashaun said the Award was justified since Epe had remained the cleanest Local Government Area and honored for it in the last few years.
Surah Animashaun disclosed that her administration had impacted on the lives of residents in all areas through implementation of programmes and policies based on the needs of residents.
The council boss also said that priority was given to road construction and repairs in order to open the area for socio-economic development.
She therefore dedicated the Award to the people of Epe for being a strong pillar behind his administration over the years.
On his part, the Chairman of Lagos Island East LCDA, Muibi Folawiyo expressed delight with the Award noting that it will spur his administration to do more in improving the well-being of residents.
Folawiyo who was represented by his Special Adviser on…Mr. Habeeb Abass said that effective management of the council funds was the reason behind the people’s oriented projects executed in the area.
While responding, the Chairman of Ifako Ijaye Local Government, Usman Hamzat commended the organisers for their recognition of those who have touched lives of the people positively.
He noted that his administration implemented projects across Ifako Ijaye based on peculiarities and demand of residents of the area.
TheSenior Special Assistsnt to the Lagos State Governor on Transportation, Toyin Aremu,.popular Nollywood Actors including, Mrs Jaiye Kuti, Ricardo Agbo were among dignitaries that graced the occassion.
