OSSAP-TVEE HOTS UP AS UNLOCK TRAINING KICKS OFF PHYSICALLY, VIRTUALLY
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (OSSAP-TVEE) was a beehive of activities Wednesday as the two-week UNLOCK training programme kicked off both virtually and physically.
While no less than 35 participants undertook the training programme physically at the OSSAP-TVEE in Abuja, a projected 2,000 others across the country joined virtually by a zoom link which was made available to all the shortlisted applicants.
Welcoming all the participants before the training proper, the SSAP-TVEE, Madam Abiola Arogundade, expressed delight at the turnout, both online and physically, adding that she was greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm shown by the participants.
She urged the participants, not only to attend classes for the duration of the course but to also listen attentively to the lectures in order to be able to write good and acceptable business plans capable of winning the star price.
Extending the goodwill of President Bola Tinubu to the participants, the SSAP-TVEE assured them that aside the UNLOCK competition, her office has a lot more to offer the youths towards realizing their Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship goals adding that by their participation, they are already winners.
The training, being anchored by an Entrepreneurship Trainer in the SSA’s office, Bukola Mayie, proved to be an exciting one on the first day as the facilitator introduced the outline of the course – BUSINESS PLAN – which include Definition of a business plan comprising the Mission, Vision and Values of a Business Plan, Benefits and Components of a Business Plan and Market and Research Analysis in a Business Plan.
Highlight of the four-hour lecture was the robust question and answer session during which participants, both online and physical, raised such questions as bordering on the importance of a business plan, the difference between it and business proposal, business expansion and what they stand to benefit as participants outside the star price of a grant.
The training, which runs for ten working days, will be rounded off with each of the participants writing a business plan outlining the goals, strategies and financial projections for a business. The business plans adjudged to be the best will each attract N500,000 for the writer.
