RCCG retains Olamilekan Mabinuori Football Competition’s Cup with three-one victory against Nigeria counterparts
The 4th Edition of the Olamilekan Mabinuori Football Competition held in Ilupeju area of Lagos has ended with RCCG beating their Nigeria counterparts three-one in the finals.
The first goal in the tension soaked match was scored by RCCG player, Tosin in the 13 minutes of first half before Etoo levelled for Nigeria in the 20 minutes.
The first yellow card was awarded to Dayo of RCCG in the 18 minutes of the encounter.
The more experienced RCCG side took the lead again through Yusuf in the 33 minutes while Sodiq sealed the victory for the side in the 36 minutes.
The hghest goal scorer award went to Kingsley osuagu while Agbaye and Kenny were named as the Best keeper and player respectively.
After the match, the organiser of the Football Competition, Olamilekan Mabinuori told newsmen that the level of talents displayed gladdens his heart.
He also explained that the Competition was designed not only to put Ilupeju and environs on the frontburner but also to foster peaceful coexistence among the youths in the area.
On his part, the RCCG Coach, Ololade Rasaq Jimoh said that he was delighted with the outcome of the game adding they have also made a statement with a fourth successive win of the competition.
He reassured that they are ready to win more and more of the trophy.
The RCCG coach noted that there was no particular error made by their opponent that gave them the victory adding his side played more like a team and result oriented.
Among dignitaries that graced the finals at Ilupeju Secondary School Ilupeju Odi Olowo Mushin
include, former Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Funmilayo Tejuosho.
