FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE YAR’ADUA FAMILY

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid a condolence visit to Hajia Turai Yar’Adua, the wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, over the demise of her mother-in-law, the late Hajia Dada Yar’Adua.
The First Lady, who was at the Abuja residence of the former president in the company of the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the wife of the Deputy Senate President, and others, noted that the late matriarch of the Yar’Adua family lived a fulfilled life, as evidenced by the quality of children she raised.
“A truly successful and fulfilled woman is not defined by her position or wealth but by how well she manages her family, raises her children, and leaves a legacy for future generations. Dada achieved all of this. She witnessed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. That is truly remarkable,” Tinubu remarked.
She urged Hajia Turai to stay strong, noting that she would now have to step into the shoes of the late Dada Yar’Adua and continue the family’s legacy.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu also expressed gratitude to the former First Lady for being a consistent pillar of support, particularly with her maternal advice.
“Despite our different political affiliations, we are one family. You have always been there to support me; your advice has always been invaluable,” she added.
In her response, Hajia Turai Umaru Yar’Adua described her late mother-in-law as a friend and sister who supported her during trying times. She thanked the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the others in her entourage for their visit, noting that it was a source of great encouragement to the family.
The wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed, as well as for the strength of the family and the nation as a whole.
Also present to receive the First Lady were some of the children of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and other extended family members.
The late Hajia Dada Yar’Adua passed away on Monday, September 2nd, at the age of 102. She was the mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, the late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua.
