INTER-SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION: A Dynamic for Brain Teasers and Intellectual Development Amongst Our Young Wards – CEO, Green Carpet Foundation
The test for brain teasers and intellectual development is paramount to be inculcated in the educational syllabus that drives the future leaders’ academia spread across the globe. This exercise, when initiated, would encourage cross-participation of pupils and students from different institutions of learning on the happenings in society.
The above was contained in the speech delivered by the founder and CEO of Green Carpet Foundation (G.C.F), Hon. Adewunmi Ogunshina, on the occasion of the latter’s seventh (7th) year anniversary of the Inter-School Quiz Competition 2024, tagged “Empowering Young Minds.” The event was held at Woodbell Schools and was attended by various schools in Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos State.
Hon. Ogunshina, the immediate past counselor of Ward K and Amuwo Odofin LGA chairmanship aspirant in the last LGA elections in Lagos State, is known for empowering widows, equipping young lads, and undertaking numerous projects before, during, and after his tenure as an honorable counselor. He noted that the highest investment society can make is ensuring that the young ones are productively set with the prerequisites to becoming real leaders of tomorrow.
He further stated that, over the seven (7) years of successfully hosting the Inter-School Quiz Competition, pupils and students from different schools in Amuwo Odofin LGA have emerged winners of other highly contested competitions against their opponents from other LGAs, LCDAs, and states across the country through the knowledge acquired from the exercise.
The 2024 edition, which was chaired by renowned academic Ambassador Dr. Mrs. Mfon Agnes Favour Gowon, duly represented by Rev. Paul Osinachi, was adjudged as the best due to its positive impacts on the lives of the attendees. Dr. Mrs. Mfon posited that the competition improves and gets better with each passing year, which is a testament to the increased knowledge in the lives of the young ones. She commended the initiator and founder, Hon. Adewunmi Ogunshina, for his consistency over the years.
The proprietors, proprietresses, principals, and heads of schools eulogized the founder of the quiz competition and encouraged him to continue, noting that the educational community is very proud of him.
The winner of the 2024 edition was Tender Touch Intellectuals, the first runner-up was Woodbell Schools, and the second runner-up was Green Day Schools. The winners were appreciated and encouraged with cash gifts, academic materials, and other offers. The other attendees were also encouraged with various academic materials.
