APC, Clerics Seek Divine Intervention, Pray for Tinubu, Hamzat’s Victory in 2027

Religious clerics across the major faiths have embarked on intensive prayers for an end to insecurity in the country, while calling for continued peaceful coexistence across ethnic and religious divides to foster sustained socio economic development of the nation.
They were also unanimous in declaring their support for the re election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

They made the call during an Interfaith Prayer Session organised by the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos.
The religious clerics commended the ruling party for seeking divine intervention for the sound health and protection of President Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shettima, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and his running mate, Damilola Sonayon James. They also expressed optimism about the party’s victory in the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the mammoth crowd at the gathering, Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu said it was deliberate that the party commenced the electioneering process by committing it into the hands of God for divine direction.
He expressed confidence that the entire process would be peaceful, adding that the race for 2027 had begun and assuring that all the candidates of the party across board would emerge victorious.
The governor promised to lead the campaigns for the re election of the President and the election of the governorship candidate, as well as all other APC candidates in the state.

He thanked the organisers of the Interfaith Prayer Session, party members and well wishers for their massive turnout, saying the party considers every stakeholder important in the build up to the elections.
Sanwo Olu, who described Nigeria and Lagos as faithful to God, however, noted that the people were ready to put their faith into action and match their words with deeds.
On his part, the governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, said he believed in God for guidance and expressed confidence that the prayers offered would receive His blessings.
He disclosed that with the massive votes of party members and residents, all the candidates of the party would win by a landslide at the polls.
Hamzat prayed for the safety of all party members during the electioneering campaigns and rallies, which will last for months before the conduct of the January and February 2027 general elections.

In his opening remarks, the Director General of BAT KOH, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, charged party members to sustain the house to house mobilisation strategy towards securing overwhelming votes for all the candidates of the party.
Earlier, Hon. Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, who noted that the month long campaign would be rigorous, assured that the party would focus on the issues and scorecards of President Tinubu, as well as the antecedents of Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
The Interfaith Prayer Session was attended by members of the Governors’ Advisory Council, former governorship aspirant Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, National Assembly candidates, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, State Executive Committee members, council chairmen and party loyalists across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state.
