Ajose Disowns ‘Fake Endorsement’ of Hamzat, Threatens Legal Action

A Lagos State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has distanced himself from a purported press release claiming he endorsed the state’s Deputy Governor, Kadri Hamzat, as the party’s governorship candidate.

In an official disclaimer personally signed by him, Ajose described the circulating statement as “false, fictitious, and unauthorized,” insisting it does not reflect his position or that of his campaign organization.

The aspirant also denied any involvement in the endorsement process reportedly linked to the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), stating that he neither participated in nor supported such a decision.

Ajose warned members of the public and his supporters across Lagos State and beyond to disregard the publication in its entirety, alleging that it was deliberately crafted to mislead the public and damage his political standing.

He further called on media organizations to exercise caution and refrain from amplifying what he termed a defamatory document, warning that it could have legal consequences.

Issuing a stern ultimatum, Ajose directed all individuals and platforms circulating the alleged press release to retract and delete it within 12 hours or face legal action over reputational and electoral damages.

He emphasized that the disclaimer was issued under his personal authority and that of his campaign organization, reaffirming his stance amid the growing political developments ahead of the Lagos governorship race.

OFFICIAL DISCLAIMER

My attention has been drawn to the circulation of a false and unauthorized Press Release in the Nigerian media, purporting to convey my endorsement of Dr. Hamzat as the Lagos State Governorship Candidate of our Party, and my support for the decisions of the State’s GAC, a process in which I played no part.

I wish to state unequivocally:

This publication is fictitious, unsanctioned, and malicious in intent. It does not represent my position, my campaign’s position, or the position of anyone authorized to speak on my behalf.

I urge the good people of Lagos State and my supporters across the country to disregard it entirely. I further urge responsible media houses to refrain from amplifying what is, in legal terms, a defamatory and potentially criminal instrument designed to manipulate public opinion and damage my standing.

All parties who have published or continue to circulate this material are hereby placed on notice: retraction and full deletion must occur within 12 hours. Legal proceedings for reputational and electoral damages will follow without further notice.

Signed,

Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose

This disclaimer is issued on my personal authority and that of my Campaign Organization.
