NASFAT earns Commendation at University of London and Secures Recognition for FUO
The immediate past Vice Chancellor of Fountain University, Distinguished Professor Amidu Olalekan Sanni was the guest of the Vice Chancellor, SOAS, University of London, Professor Adam Habib at his office in London during the week.
Distinguished Professor Sanni visited the iconic university administrator on how to secure technical and intellectual assistance for Islamic-oriented universities in Nigeria, especially Fountain University, Osogbo, and Summit University, Offa.
Professor Sanni thereafter presented a copy of the NASFAT 25 year old History to the Vice Chancellor.
Responding, Prof Habib expressed delight at the spectacular progress has made over the past 25 years in projecting the image of Islam in a positive light among the elite and common faithful at home and abroad.
He particularly commended the success of NASFAT in the establishment of Fountain University which has projected the commitment of the Society to human capital development in respect of Muslim and non-Muslim youth across the length and breadth of Nigeria. He noted with delight that in spite of its age, Fountain University has come to be noted in the UK Times Higher Education profiling and promised to assist the University in areas of collaboration, networking, among others.
Commenting further, Professor Habib who gave a goodwill message during the Inaugural Convocation ceremony of Summit University, Offa, in 2024 promised to also assist the other Islamic-oriented university.
He advised both institutions to see themselves as partners in the project of providing quality education to the youth of Nigeria, especially the underprivileged and promised to extend a hand of fellowship to NASFAT and the two universities during his visit to Nigeria later in the year.
In company of Distinguished Professor Sanni were Kunle Yusuff, Executive Secretary/CEO Institute of Negotiators, Community and Social Development Experts (INCOS-DE), and Sheikh Abdul Hakeem Omotosho, Imam of Camberwell Islamic Centre- Jamatu Islamiyya Nigeria.
