Balogun Congratulates Disu on Appointment as Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police
Former Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Abdurrazaq Balogun, has congratulated Tunji Disu on his appointment as the Inspector General of Police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Balogun described Disu’s elevation as a fitting recognition of his longstanding record of discipline, courage, integrity, and distinguished service in the Nigeria Police Force.
In a congratulatory message, the former LSSTF chief recalled their close professional collaboration during Disu’s tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad under the Lagos State Police Command.
According to him, the logistics, equipment and operational support of the squad were under his supervision at the LSSTF, a responsibility that brought both men into regular collaboration in efforts to enhance security in Lagos State.
Balogun noted that throughout their professional engagement, Disu demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, strategic insight and a willingness to maintain constructive engagement with civilian stakeholders.
He added that the new police chief introduced innovation into policing operations, embraced accountability and showed deep concern for the welfare and professional development of officers under his command.
Balogun further stated that under Disu’s leadership, regular training initiatives, improved operational readiness and enhanced welfare support for officers were sustained through the partnership between the Rapid Response Squad and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
Expressing confidence in the new Inspector General’s ability to lead effectively, Balogun said Disu would uphold the highest standards of professionalism while strengthening the Nigeria Police Force in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
He described the appointment as both timely and appropriate, wishing the new police chief wisdom, fortitude and success as he assumes the national responsibility.
