UMA Holds 36th Annual Congress tomorrow Wed October 1st in UNILAG
The University of Lagos Muslim Alumni (UMA) will hold its 36th Annual General Meeting and Congress tomorrow Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Islamic Centre of the University Mosque, Akoka-Yaba, Lagos.
In a statement signed by the National President, Dr. Mumini Alao, the association invited all Muslims who have obtained any form of certification from the University of Lagos to attend. Eligible members include holders of diplomas, postgraduate diplomas, certificates, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees, whether from full-time or part-time programmes.
The congress will feature lectures on personal development, and two keynote addresses from Dr. Ahmed Tunde Popoola and Hajia Shareefah Abiola Andu.
Dr. Ahmed Tunde Popoola, the MD/CEO of CRC Credit Bureau, will talk on “Retirement Planning for Senior Professionals and Young Graduates” while Hajia Shareefah Abiola Andu, the MD of Arabel, will talk on “Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Current Government Policies for Young Graduates”
Members will also learn about salient health issues at the Congress.
In addition to reviewing UMA’s activities over the past year, the congress will unveil new programmes and serve as a platform for networking, mentorship, and the exchange of business ideas among members.
Dr. Alao expressed optimism for a large turnout and urged all eligible alumni to take advantage of this opportunity to reconnect, learn, and grow together.
