The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged parents to encourage their children and wards to be innovative to enhance national productivity and boost the economy.

Senator Tinubu gave this advice in Owerri during a meeting with the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the 27 Local Government Chairmen, and the Council of Traditional Rulers in the state, led by its Chairman, Eze Emmanuel Okeke CFR, the Eze of Owerri.

The First Lady stated that the current state of the nation is robust enough to attract foreign investors. She added that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing its best to make life better for all Nigerians.

“My advice is that, as parents, we should begin to teach our children how to be innovative. The world is changing, and change is constant.

“We are talking about Artificial Intelligence, and there are many technologies out there. Our children should be able to think outside the box because business is no longer as usual.

“During COVID, some people became millionaires because they did things differently. It’s the same idea — thinking differently and approaching challenges with new strategies.

“We have mineral resources that the world needs. We should start thinking about how to put them to productive use.”

The First Lady also emphasized the importance of agriculture.

“People should go back to the farm,” she urged. “We need to restore Nigeria to its glory so that we can all enjoy peace and security in this nation.

“When things improve, our children should be ready to take over, manage our investments, and sustain the progress we have achieved.”

Earlier, Governor Hope Uzodinma expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the First Lady, and Vice President Kashim Shettima and his wife for their continued support for Imo State.

The Governor appealed to Nigerians to focus on the positive strides of the Tinubu administration, especially during challenging global times marked by wars in Ukraine, Russia, and Israel, which have adversely affected the world economy.

He noted that the presidency and the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), spearheaded by Senator Tinubu, had sent substantial food supplies and other items to the people of Imo State ahead of the festive season.

“Today is a joyful day in Imo because we have one of our own here.

“We thank the President for sending 50 trailers of rice to be sold at N40,000 to Imo indigenes.

“Our children have also benefited from numerous scholarships and other initiatives through the RHI.”

Eze Emmanuel Okeke, on behalf of the Council of Traditional Rulers, commended the First Lady for fulfilling her promise to return to appreciate their support for President Tinubu.

“We thank God that you fulfilled your promise of coming back to this state and that our wish came true.

“We have witnessed how our President has been leading this country with dynamic wisdom. We continue to pray for God to give him more strength and protection so that he can deliver Nigeria and restore order.”
