Ondo 2024: Labour Party Set For Mass Protests, Legal Battle, If Ondo Election is Manipulated

…Condemns incidents of Vote Buying and Ballot Boxes snatching during the Elections

Labour Party Deputy Governorship Candidate in Ondo State, Olabisi Olubunkola Adu has said the Labour Party and indeed the Obi-dients would mobilise and join other aggrieved political parties, stakeholders and youths to protests and occupy the streets of Ondo State and wage a formidable legal battle, if the results of the ongoing elections in the state are deemed by Stakeholders to be falsified or rigged in any form.

Addressing the Press in Akure, the State capital, at the end of voting on Saturday, Olabisi Adu said some of the early reports received from the Agents of Labour Party indicated substantial incidents of vote buying and intimidation of voters across the State and therefore urged the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC not to allow desperate politicians compromise credibility of the governorship elections through rigging and falsification of results of the elections

“Any polling unit results not uploaded on INEC Portal at the Polling Unit in real time or which view is mutilated can not be said to be credible or in concurrence with the electoral act and therefore be nullified, as our agents have reported incidents in this regard, expressing serious concern about the credibility of the elections”

So, we call on INEC to be vigilant and not to allow rigged, mutilated or falsified results to undermine the integrity of this election as the case of Edo elections, as we are set to mobilise and join other stakeholders in resisting the imposition of rigged elections, falsified results and unpopular government on the good people of Ondo State ” Olabisi Adu warned

According to her a stakeholders review meeting is being planned for Monday to x-ray the integrity of the elections and a firm decision will be taken on the fate of the elections during the meeting by all concerned. She however concluded that “But if the elections are deemed unflawed and credible, we shall be the first to congratulate whoever emerges as the winner of the elections”
