OGIDAN PRESENT AS COKER–AGUDA LEADERS’ REAFFIRMS AKINYEMI-OBE LEADERSHIP

…GAC Leader Recognises Her Leadership

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Coker–Aguda LCDA have unanimously reaffirmed Hon. Medinat Omobolanle Adetutu Akinyemi-Obe as the Apex Leader of the party in the LCDA at a meeting held today at the party’s LGA Secretariat on Bolaji Banwo Street, Aguda.

The meeting was attended by Hon. Akinyemi-Obe, the Executive Chairman of Coker–Aguda LCDA, Hon. Ogidan Azeez, Councillors, SLG, Chief of Staff, Supervisors, the LGA Chairman Alhaja Morufat Memudu, party leaders, and members from across the seven wards.

The reaffirmation comes against the backdrop of the surprise visit to Coker–Aguda yesterday by the Chairman of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Prince Tajudeen Olusi, who, during the visit, recognised Hon. Akinyemi-Obe’s position as the Apex Leader of the APC in Coker–Aguda.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Akinyemi-Obe expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for the confidence reposed in her. She also prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Prince Ademola Dadanla, the former Deputy Apex Leader of the party in Coker–Aguda, Engr Timothy Sobande and Pa Kehinde.

She reaffirmed her loyalty to the APC, declaring that she would never work against a party that gave her the opportunity to serve as its Apex Leader. She further called on all leaders and members to remain committed to the party, intensify grassroots mobilisation, and work collectively towards securing victory for the APC and all its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In his remarks, Hon. Ogidan expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Akinyemi-Obe for the support and guidance she has provided throughout his political journey, recalling his time as an SSA Environment during her administration, his tenure as a Councillor, and his current position as Executive Chairman.

He also referenced Prince Olusi’s visit the previous day, noting the GAC Chairman’s clear recognition of Hon. Akinyemi-Obe as the Apex Leader in Coker–Aguda.

Hon. Ogidan appealed to party leaders and members to put their differences aside as the elections approach, acknowledging that disagreements are natural within political organisations but urging members to resolve them through dialogue and collective interest.

The LGA Chairman, Alhaja Morufat Memudu, appreciated Hon. Akinyemi-Obe for her continued support to the party and urged members to embrace the Chairman’s call for unity. She stressed the need for leaders and members to work together and put personal differences aside in the interest of the party and the success of its candidates.

Following the deliberations, a motion for the reaffirmation of Hon. Medinat Omobolanle Akinyemi-Obe as the Apex Leader of APC in Coker–Aguda LCDA was moved by Alhaji A.A. Balogun and seconded by Alhaja A.I. Fagbayi. The motion was unanimously adopted by the members present.

The meeting ended with a renewed commitment to unity, grassroots mobilisation, and collective support for the APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
