Emilagba Marks First Year in Office with ₦45m Empowerment, Massive Support for Residents


There was a massive turnout at the Lagos Mainland Local Government Secretariat on Ondo Street, Ebute Metta West, as the council celebrated the first anniversary of the administration of its Chairman, Major (Dr.) Jubril Kolawole Emilagba.

The celebration attracted dignitaries from various walks of life, including political leaders, technocrats, market leaders, friends and associates of the council leadership.

The Vice Chairman of the council, Hon. Wale Momoh, councillors and top management staff of the local government were also in attendance, contributing to the success of the event.

Speaking at the occasion, the elated Chairman, Major (Dr.) Jubril Kolawole Emilagba, highlighted his administration’s scorecard and achievements since assuming office, covering key sectors such as healthcare, education, environmental management, infrastructure, poverty alleviation, human capital development, security, sports and support for the elderly.

The high point of the celebration was the distribution of ₦45 million in cash to residents across various categories as part of the council’s empowerment and poverty reduction initiatives.

A good number of residents also benefited from the Mega Empowerment Programme, receiving items including grinding machines, sewing machines, stone cutting machines, gas cylinders, cartons of Indomie noodles and eggs, deep freezers and soft drinks.

Appreciative residents commended the council Chairman for the initiatives and pledged their continued support for his administration. They also promised to remain committed to the prompt payment of taxes and levies, as well as compliance with the council’s bye laws.
