Insecurity, Economic Hardship: IEDPU Lagos Chapter Organises Special Prayer for Divine Intervention

Disturbed by the prevailing insecurity and economic hardship affecting Nigerians, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Lagos Chapter, has organised a special prayer session, seeking Allah’s divine intervention to restore peace and alleviate the nation’s challenges.
The prayer, scheduled to hold on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the mosque premises of Sheikh Muhammad Robiu Atanda Abdulmalik, popularly known as ‘Baba Loworo’, is expected to attract the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 2, Moshood Olohundare Jimoh, as well as other dignitaries from across the country.

Speaking on the forthcoming event, the IEDPU Chairman, Western Zone, Dr. Solih Imoloba Owonikoko, disclosed that a series of prayers had already been conducted, with the grand finale to take place at Baba Loworo’s mosque, considering his reputation as a renowned spiritual leader. The prayer session is scheduled to hold between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Also speaking, the IEDPU Secretary, Western Zone, Alhaji Sakariyau Idaoba, revealed that the Mudir of Morkaz, Agege, Sheikh Habibullahi Adam, alongside several other Islamic clerics, would serve as Special Guests of Honour at the occasion.
The Chairman of IEDPU, Lagos Chapter, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Adeshina Ibrahim, said the venue is Lutfullah International Prayer Group Mosque, 17 Alabi Owoyemi Street, Oworonshoki (Olopomeji Bus Stop), Lagos.
He urged members of the public who wish to participate in the two hour prayer session to arrive early, noting that the programme will commence promptly at 2:00 p.m. and conclude by 4:00 p.m. in time for the Asr prayer.
“We believe that it is only through prayers and Allah’s divine intervention that our country can overcome the menace of banditry and receive the wisdom to address the economic hardship that has negatively affected Nigerians,” he said.
