Habiba Charity Foundation Feeds 600 Inmates at Borstal Institute in Abeokuta

ABEOKUTA — The Habiba Charity Foundation has provided meals for 600 inmates at the Borstal Institute in Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State, as part of its commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society and promoting the welfare of young offenders.

The outreach, held on Saturday, brought smiles to the faces of the inmates, who expressed appreciation for the Foundation’s gesture. The Borstal Institute is a correctional facility established for the rehabilitation and reformation of young offenders.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were Dr. Lawal, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Health, and Professor Balogun. Both addressed the inmates, encouraging them to remain hopeful, embrace positive values, and make the most of the opportunities available to them for personal transformation. They also offered prayers before the meals were distributed.

Speaking after the exercise, the Chairman and Founder of the Habiba Charity Foundation, Engineer Rasheed Ismail, called on individuals, corporate organisations, non governmental organisations, and other well meaning Nigerians to complement government efforts in supporting the rehabilitation of young offenders.

He stressed that investing in the welfare and development of young people is essential to building a better society.

“If we want good leaders tomorrow, we must take care of the children of today. Let us all join hands to help these young people rebuild their lives and become responsible members of society,” he said.

Engineer Ismail reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian interventions aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable groups and contributing to national development through compassion and community service.
