Hon. Ogidan Supports Traders Affected by Orisumbare Ojora Market Fire with ₦250,000 Each

The Executive Chairman of Coker-Aguda LCDA, Hon. Ogidan Azeez, has provided financial relief to traders and shop owners whose businesses were affected in the section of the Orisunmbare Ojora Royal Market, Orile-Iganmu, that was damaged by fire outbreak on October 26, 2025.

No fewer than 42 beneficiaries, all of whom owned shops within the affected section, received ₦250,000 (Two hundred and fifty thousand naira) support grants each to help them recover their losses and restart their businesses.

During the cheque presentation, Hon. Ogidan described the incident as an unfortunate setback for hardworking residents and emphasized that his administration is fully committed to ensuring that no affected trader is left behind.

_”This fire touched only one section of the market, but the impact on those affected is deeply felt. Today’s support is our way of helping you rise again. Coker-Aguda LCDA will continue to stand by you, not only in good times but especially in difficult moments,”_ he stated.

Hon. Ogidan further stated that this intervention is part of Coker-Aguda’s contribution to complementing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus developmental vision, both of which emphasize community upliftment and economic empowerment

He commended the rapid intervention of the fire service and emergency responders whose swift action prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the market. Hon. Ogidan also assured that the Council will strengthen market safety measures, improve compliance with fire prevention guidelines, and work closely with market leadership to reduce future risks.

The Executive Chairman urged beneficiaries to apply the funds strictly toward rebuilding their businesses and reiterated that further safety sensitization programmes will follow as part of the Council’s long-term recovery efforts.

The beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Ogidan and members of his administration, praising their prompt intervention, compassion, and commitment to the welfare of traders.
