Lagos APC to Dino Melaye: ADC Can’t Unseat Tinubu in 2027 — Stop Daydreaming

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as laughable and delusional the recent claim by Mr. Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), that his party will unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Thursday, the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Seye Oladejo, described Melaye’s remarks as “daydreaming,” adding that the ADC lacks the structure, capacity, and public trust needed to challenge a sitting president who is delivering on his mandate.

“The statement, coming from a politician whose recent electoral record is nothing short of disastrous, only confirms the growing disconnect between the ADC’s ambition and its political reality,” Oladejo said.

He added that Mr. Melaye, “having failed woefully in his own state and recently defected from one platform to another, is hardly in a position to make pronouncements on national leadership or electoral victory.”

According to the Lagos APC, President Tinubu has, within two years in office, demonstrated transformational leadership through bold economic reforms, inclusive governance, and massive infrastructural development across the country.

“His leadership has restored international confidence in Nigeria and rekindled hope among citizens — a far cry from the empty rhetoric of the opposition,” Oladejo stated.

He emphasized that while the APC remains a nationally entrenched movement with deep grassroots presence in all 774 local government areas, the ADC “has no visible impact in any geopolitical zone and cannot be taken seriously when it comes to national leadership.”

Oladejo urged Nigerians to disregard Melaye’s “media theatrics” and remain focused on the steady progress being made under the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.

“2027 will be decided by performance, not noise. President Tinubu is delivering results, and that will speak louder than empty campaign slogans,” he said.

The Lagos APC reaffirmed its support for President Tinubu and pledged to continue mobilizing Nigerians behind his administration’s developmental efforts.
