NEMA DG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO OPERATION SAFE CORRIDOR
The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, on Thursday received a delegation from Operation Safe Corridor (OPSC), led by its Coordinator, Brigadier General Yusuf Ali, on a courtesy visit to the NEMA headquarters in Abuja.
The OPSC Coordinator, Brigadier General Yusuf Ali said they were at NEMA on advocacy to strengthen collaboration and support towards the Federal Government’s non-kinetic counter-insurgency programme aimed at deradicalization, rehabilitation and reintegration of repentant ex-combatants into society.
Responding, the Director General NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to supporting the objectives of the Operation Safe Corridor within its mandate and available resources.
She emphasized the importance of a multi-agency approach in addressing the humanitarian and security challenges associated with the reintegration efforts, assuring continued collaboration to enhance the programme’s success.
