NELFUND LAUNCHES PRE-APPLICATION SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN FOR STUDENTS

In a move to foster awareness and understanding of the Nigerian Students Loan Program before its official launch, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), led by its Managing Director, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, is excited to announce the commencement of a comprehensive sensitization campaign.

The Students Loan, a flagship program of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s (GCFR) Renewed Hope Agenda, is a cornerstone of the administration’s commitment to democratizing access to higher education and empowering Nigerian youth with the tools they need to succeed in today’s dynamic global landscape.

Recognizing the pivotal role education plays in driving socio-economic progress, the program has been meticulously designed to provide financial support, including school fees and stipends, to eligible students nationwide.

The sensitization campaign is set to commence on Monday, May 13, 2024. It is a testament to NELFUND’s dedication to ensuring that every interested and eligible student in Nigeria is equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate the application process with confidence and clarity.

Through a multifaceted approach, including town hall meetings, radio and television broadcasts, social media campaigns, interactive workshops, and distributing of informational materials, NELFUND aims to reach every corner of the nation and engage with diverse stakeholders.

The key objectives of the sensitization campaign are:

1. Education on Eligibility Criteria: Clarifying the criteria for student eligibility and ensuring that qualified individuals understand the requirements for participation.

2. Guidance on Application Procedures: Providing step-by-step guidance on how to apply on the portal, including documentation requirements and submission processes.

3. Explanation of Repayment Options: Informing students about the various repayment plans available, as well as opportunities for loan forgiveness or deferment.

4. Highlighting Program Benefits: Communicating the numerous benefits of the loan, including access to higher education, skill development, and enhanced career prospects.

By fostering a culture of transparency, accessibility, and accountability, NELFUND is steadfast in its commitment to empowering Nigerian youth to pursue their educational aspirations without the burden of financial constraints.
