CEO Islam Channel, Muhammadu Alli projects Nigeria to be among top ten economies in the world in few years
The Mannaging Director/CEO of slam Channel UK, Muhammadu Alli belives Nigeria has the potentials of becoming one of the ten largest economy in the world in the next few years.
He said this according to the World Bank projection is because the country is blessed with the population and other potentials for every business enterprise to thrive.
Muhammadu Alli stated this while speaking virtuallly during the one-day retreat for stakeholders organised by Lasilkiin Communications Limited an arm of Nasirul Lahi Fatih Society, NASFAT.
Speaking to the topic, sustaining a faith-based media outfit, Islam Channel as a case study, Alli said that the Channel which started in 2004 with the aim to project Islam as Dawwah went through some challenges maintaining a TV station at early stage.
He however attributed the success so far to the grace of Allah adding the viewership of the platform has been on the increase through quality Sports, Comedy, News and Entertainment programmes for different segment of the society.
He said the Channel is ranked 136 out of over 1000 stations in the UK saying Nigeria is one of the countries the Channel enjoyed huge viewership.
Alli noted that the Online platform of the station had also reached 63 million people around the world.
On increasing the revenue base of Islam Channel, Muhammadu Alli explained that this was achieved based on the quality programmes which had largely influenced the viewership base.
While speaking on managing Media outfit in the era of hi tech, Dr Akintunde Akanni stressed the need for high quality contents to attract desired listners to Kii Radio.
He also canvassed for regular training and retraining of staff of the. Radio station in order to be in compliance with the modern trends in the industry.
The Associate Professor of Journalism and Director of Digital Media Research Ccentre, LASU charged the management of the outfit to accord priority to other sources of generating stories.
According to him, the online Radio station could focus on specialised news in order to attracts funding from donor agencies.
Broadcast Journalist and pioneer General Manager of VOP 90.3 fm, Taiwo Olapade focused on the Viability of Online Radio and TV station in Nigeria, a case study of KII Radio at the retreat.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman, Lasilkiin Communications Limited, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola said the retreat was to have brainstorm on how to increase the listnership base and revenue potentials for the station.
He was of the view that the station in its wo years of existence seems not to have achieved the vision of the Board of Directors.
He expressed hope that the staff of the station wiill apply lesson learnt and the SWOT analysis from the retreat in improving the status of the Radio station.
The Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Morufu Abdulazeez Onike thanked the CEO of Islam Channel for the continued support to the group.
He disclosed that NASFAT intends to mirror the station as benchmark for delivery of quality programmes to her audience.
According to him, NASFAT has over one million members and 350 branches over the world including Canada, UK, US, Togo and Ghana.
The President of the Islamic group, Mr Niyi Yusuf said there was every need for the Radio station to deliver on her mandate since funding was never a problem.
Concluding remarks at the retreat, the General Manager of Kii Media,, Marufdeen Bello thanked the Guest speakers for sharing their wealth of experience towards repositioning the outfit.
He also expressed gratitude to the Board of Lasilkiin Communications Limited for providing the platform to cross fertilize ideas and reassured them of readiness to face the task ahead.
