Betta Edu confident of victory as APC women target 40m votes for Tinubu

Director of Women Mobilisation, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, has said the party’s women mobilisation structure is targeting 40 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Edu spoke shortly after the inauguration of the APC Presidential Women Campaign Council at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.

She said APC women were entering the 2027 electoral season with a coordinated mobilisation strategy spanning states, wards, communities and polling units.

According to her, the mobilisation would focus on strengthening women’s participation, organisation and engagement at the grassroots under the Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: “From Reforms to Prosperity.”

Edu expressed confidence in the campaign’s prospects, saying, “President Tinubu will win again.”

She said the 40 million-vote target would be pursued through a coordinated grassroots structure designed to take the campaign message directly to communities and households across the country.

The APC women’s mobilisation drive, she said, would operate from the national level down to wards, communities and polling units, with women playing a central role in engaging voters ahead of the 2027 elections.

Edu had earlier said the women mobilisation directorate was intensifying community engagements and door-to-door mobilisation across the country, describing the initiative as part of efforts to build a nationwide grassroots structure.

She said the campaign would be driven by a shared commitment to one coordinated mobilisation and one mandate.
