SUBEB Chairman, Alawiye-King unveils Eko Poems
…Showcase Governor Sanwo-Olu’s achievements in various sectors
Poems written by some primary schools students in Lagos state to showcase the achievenents recorded by Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has been unveiled in Lagos.
While unveiling the audio-visual of Eko Poems tagged “An Anthology of Nursery Rhymes” the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon Wahab Alawiye-King said the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu accords high value to the education of students in the state.
He expressed hope that the collections will encourage and inspire people to appreciate the works of Arts.
Hon Alawiye-King noted that the discovery of talents with the iniative has demonstrated that age is not a barrier to creativity urging them to use their talents to make good impact in the world.
Miss Olanusi Oluwaseun who represented the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Adetola Salau said he was delighted with the project since it gave room for empowerment of the students.
According to him, the Eko Poems has given room for them to chose a career at early stage in order to influence the society with it.
Mrs Sherifat Adedoyin who is a member of Co- Curricular activities at SUBEB described the initiative as examplary saying the state had discovered several talents among the children.
The brain behind the project, Mr Ola Awakan said it was a worthy partnership that has given great opportunity to 63 primary school students in the state.
In his words, the poems also amplified the good work in all sectors implemented by the Babajide Sanwwoolu led government.
Five of the Eko poems have been converted to Audio-Video for easy understanding by people.
Ola Awakan who said that the second edition will focus on the eradication of the scourge of drug abuse called for collaboration towards expanding the project.
On his part Mr Olalekan Abraham charged the students not to be discouraged by challenges that may come their way while also commended SUBEB for the unalloyed support for the project.
