Former Lagos Deputy Governor, Sinatu Ojikutu vows to renounce her Citizenship if Tinubu is sworn in

…raises concern over her safety

Former Lagos State Deputy  Governor, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu has vowed to renounce her Citizenship if the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is sworn in on May 29th this year.

She also promised to stop the use of the Nigerian Green passport henceforth and find a peaceful country to spend the rest of her life

While addressing newsmen today at her residence in Ikoyi, Alhaja Ojikutu said she incurred the wrath of Tinubu when she contested for the Lagos Governorship Election in 2003 and also following her appointment to represent Lagos in the Federal Character Commission.

Sinatu Ojikutu noted that  she got hint about the move by Tinubu to deal her from some of the close associate of the President-Elect.

According to her and I quote” I was worried when some of his associates told me that Tinubu was asking them if I was still alive. But I became more worrisome when I sent messages to those his associates but never got any reply from them till now”. End of quote.

When asked whether she had officially reported the matter to the security agency, the former Lagos Deputy Governor said that she did not because of her disposition towards them.

Alhaja Ojikutu also disclosed to newsmen that she was walked out of a meeting by Tinubu during official visit to Lagos by the then former President Olusegun Obasanjo adding it was very surprising to see prominent Lagosisans supporting him at the meeting held at the Marina House.

Mrs Ojikutu insisted that there was nothing known to her that she did wrong to offend Tinubu adding all efforts to reconcile with him proved abortive.

On the February 25th Presidential election, Alhaja Ojikutu said it lacked every form of credibility and falls short of normal standard.

She noted that she had no regret spporting the LP candidate, Peter Obi whom she described at the best among those who offered themselves for the job.

Her support for Obi was also because she believes it was the turn of the South East to govern the country in the spirit of justice and equity.

She also picked holes in the threats of Treason charges against some of the Presidential Candidates adding that will further hit up the polity.

She however expressed her confidence in the Judiciary hoping that they will not dismiss the petition by Peter Obi based on technicalities.

According to her, it was so sad that the nation continued to further degenerate under the ruling party with no hope of a better future where corruption, poverty, dearth in infrastructure, insecurity, cyber crimes, and unemployment are the order of the day.
