Movement for Truth Distances Itself from Chief Olusola Oke’s Endorsement of Governor Ayedatiwa
The Movement for Truth has announced its disapproval of Chief Olusola Oke, SAN’s decision to support Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa in the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election scheduled for November. The announcement was made in a press release signed by Otunba Dr. Benson Enikuomehin, FCPA; Kayode Mogbojuri, Esq.; and Otunba Steve Omogbemi.
The statement emphasizes that while Chief Olusola Oke, SAN, has the right to support any candidate of his choosing, his decision does not reflect the stance of the Movement for Truth. The organization, which previously supported Chief Oke, clarified that it will not be coerced into backing Governor Ayedatiwa.
“Our team therefore dissociates itself from the decision taken by Chief Olusola Oke, SAN. While we respect his view, we also expect him to respect our position on the matter,” the press release stated.
The Movement for Truth reiterated its earlier claims that no primary election was held by the APC in Ondo State on April 20, 2024. The group underscored its commitment to justice, fairness, and equity in the political landscape of Ondo State.
“Flowing from the above, we remain committed to what is just, fair, equitable, and of sound mind in our pursuit of who should be the Governor of Ondo State,” the statement continued.
With Chief Olusola Oke’s alignment with Governor Ayedatiwa, the Movement for Truth has declared its intention to seek a new direction, explicitly rejecting what they referred to as “unrighteous marmon.”
The Movement for Truth has announced plans to hold a press conference to further clarify and solidify its position on the matter.
