MCLS Congratulates Six New Permanent Secretaries, Charges Them on Integrity

The Muslim Community of Lagos State (MCLS) has congratulated the six newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the state, urging them to discharge their responsibilities with fear of Allah, integrity, fairness and dedication to public service.

The community, in a statement signed by its President, Hon. Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole, and Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Jubril Folami, particularly congratulated the three Muslim appointees: Dr. Olawale Mahadiyu Adegbite; Mr. Adebayo Mubashiru Haroun; and Mrs. Bilquees Toyin Adekoya, Principal/Director of Education, Education District VI.

MCLS described the appointments by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as a call to greater responsibility and an opportunity for the appointees to contribute to the development of Lagos State.

The community said the appointment of the three Muslim Permanent Secretaries was a source of encouragement to the Muslim community, urging them to uphold the values of professionalism, justice, accountability and service to humanity.

While congratulating all six appointees, MCLS urged them to see their new positions not merely as achievements or professional distinctions but as a sacred trust requiring diligence, fairness, humility and commitment to the public good.

The community particularly urged the Muslim appointees to fear Allah in the discharge of their responsibilities, reminding them that public office is an Amanah (trust) for which every individual will ultimately be accountable before Almighty Allah.

It urged them to allow the principles of Islam, including justice, honesty, compassion, transparency and accountability, to guide their decisions and interactions with members of the public.

The community cited Qur’an 4:58, which states: “Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice.”

According to MCLS, the injunction serves as a reminder that leadership must be exercised with integrity and that the privileges of public office should be matched by a sincere commitment to the welfare of the people.

The community also urged the new Permanent Secretaries to deploy their experience, expertise and administrative competence to their respective assignments, promote efficiency in the public service and support policies aimed at improving the lives of Lagos residents.

MCLS called on the appointees to treat all citizens fairly, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or social standing, while encouraging them to work collaboratively with their colleagues and uphold the highest standards of public service.

It expressed confidence that the Permanent Secretaries would contribute meaningfully to the administration’s efforts to improve governance and service delivery across the state.

The community prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the appointees wisdom, sound judgment, strength and sincerity of purpose to discharge their responsibilities effectively.

It also appreciated Governor Sanwo-Olu for the appointments, expressing hope that the new Permanent Secretaries would justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary leadership, professionalism and measurable contributions to the development of Lagos State.
