OGIDAN ADMINISTRATION ISSUES STRONG SECURITY DIRECTIVES AHEAD OF THE FESTIVE SEASON
In view of the approaching festive celebrations and in response to the prevailing security mood across the country, the administration of Hon. Ogidan Azeez today convened a high-level security meeting with security operatives and the LCDA Security Committee.
The meeting, held at the instance of the Executive Chairman, emphasized the urgent need for strict compliance with heightened security protocols to safeguard lives and property during the Christmas and New Year period.
After extensive deliberations, the following resolutions were adopted:
1. *MANDATORY SECURITY PERMITS*:
No street carnival, concert, end-of-year party, or neighbourhood gathering is permitted without prior written approval from both the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the relevant station and the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) office covering the area.
2. *STRICT EVENT TIMING*:
All street events, carnivals, and festive activities must hold strictly between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Any individual or group found violating this directive will face the full wrath of the law, which could include: event shutdown, arrest, and prosecution as applicable.
3. *COMMUNITY SENSITIZATION*:
Councillors, CDAs, CDCs, and traditional/community leaders have been strongly advised to intensify community-wide sensitization on vigilance, responsible celebration, and timely reporting of suspicious activities.
While speaking, Hon. Ogidan said these measures are put in place to ensure proper monitoring, deployment of personnel, and swift response to any threat capable of disrupting public order.
The administration also vow that the Council will work closely with all security agencies to enforce these resolutions without compromise and ensure that Coker-Aguda remains safe, peaceful, and incident-free throughout the festive season and beyond.
Residents are therefore urged to cooperate fully with the directive, remain alert, and prioritize safety above all else as they celebrate.
The security meeting was attended by the Vice Chairman, Barr. Matthew Olaleye, the Council Leader, Hon. Sulaimon Afeez, who led the Councilors, the CDC Chairman, Mr. Sanni Ogidan, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (Coker-Aguda Chapter) and Heads of relevant security agencies.
