Professor Usman Hails Neya Kalu’s Nomination as a Win for Younger Leaders
Professor Adamu Usman has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing another young and dynamic Nigerian, Ms. Neya Kalu, as an ambassador-designate, describing the move as a strong demonstration of the President’s commitment to promoting youth participation in governance.
In a statement issued in Kano State, Professor Usman commended President Tinubu for “recognizing competence, capacity, and the energy of young Nigerians who are eager to serve their country on the global stage.”
He noted that Neya Kalu’s nomination reflects the administration’s deliberate effort to strengthen gender balance and expand opportunities for young professionals in national service.
According to him, “Neya Kalu represents a new generation of Nigerian leaders—vibrant, intelligent, and fully prepared for the demands of international diplomacy. President Tinubu has once again shown that he is intentional about empowering young talents, particularly young women, to take up strategic roles that enhance Nigeria’s image worldwide.”
Professor Usman also highlighted the recent youthful appointment made by President Tinubu in the Ministry of Science and Technology as another commendable step toward entrusting key national positions to capable young Nigerians. He described both appointments as “clear indicators that the President is building a future-oriented leadership structure for the country.”
These decisions, he said, reflect President Tinubu’s belief in innovation, youth-driven ideas, and the need to harness the strength of young people in shaping Nigeria’s future. He urged the newly appointed officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering impactful service, expressing optimism that their contributions would bring pride to the nation.
Professor Usman further encouraged other young Nigerians to draw inspiration from these appointments, emphasizing that dedication, patriotism, and excellence remain vital pathways to national leadership and global relevance. Neya Kalu’s nomination and other recent youthful appointments continue to attract widespread commendation from stakeholders who see them as milestones toward a more inclusive, progressive, and youth-driven governance structure in Nigeria.
