First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Leads Women on Condolence Visit to Daura
As the nation continues to mourn the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, paid a solemn condolence visit to her predecessor, the widow of the late President, Hajia Aisha Buhari.
The visit, which took place in Daura, Katsina State, was led by Senator Tinubu and included wives of National Assembly leaders, state governors, ministers, service chiefs, and other prominent women.
The delegation offered heartfelt condolences to the former First Lady and prayed for the peaceful repose of the late President’s soul and comfort for the family.
A brief stop was made at the gravesite of the former President for a short prayer, followed by a visit to the residence of Alhaji Mamman Daura, uncle and close ally of the late President.
At the residence, the First Lady described the late President as “an accomplished man who made his family, town, state, and nation proud.”
In his response, Alhaji Mamman Daura expressed gratitude to the First Lady for the honor and support extended to the Buhari family.
The First Lady also visited the palace of the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar, where she commiserated with the Emirate over the loss of a great son of the soil.
In his remarks, the Emir reaffirmed the Emirate’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring him their preferred candidate for the 2027 Presidential Elections.
