Breaking News: Ansarudeen Grammar School Randle, Surulere inaugurates new Prefects as Chairman Board of Governors, Dr Ekemode urges them to maintain academic records and show good example to others
The Chairman Board of Governors of Ansarudeen Grammar School, Dr Ade Ekemode has urged the students of the school to continue to maintain their shinning academic records.
While speaking today at the inauguration of new Prefects in the School premises on Randle Street, Surulere, Dr Ekemode also enjoined them to be of good examples to their colleagues.
He expressed joy with the quality of laurels won by students of the school locally and internationally.
Dr Ekemode believes the school stand to produce quality leadership for the country in the nearest future going by various academic fields they intend to pursue.
On his part, the Principal of Ansarudeen Grammar School, Mr Habeeb Badru said the school had witnessed monumental progress during the reign of Dr Ekemode.
The Principal also disclosed that the Prefects went through rigorous nomination and election process which reflects the principles of transparency and fairness.
According to him, the Student Representatives Council nominated those that contested for various positions after which the school also conducted checks on their academic standing and moral behaviours.
Earlier, one of the Teachers in school, Mr Jazaa Baqai in his admonition urged the newly inaugurated Ptefects to see the position as that of huge responsibility.
He also enjoined them to obey the laws of Allah guiding those in position and see it as an opportunity to serve Allah.
Mr Baqai further said and I quote” The position has been given to you in trust that they must not betray it since they will render account of it before Allah. They should treat all the students with the fear of God and treat everyone equally.” End of quote.
Responding on behalf of the Prefects, the Speaker who also doubles as the Head Boy of the school, Master Adbulhakeem Mustapha assured of commitment to the service of the school.
He promised that his colleagues will not take for granted the opportunity given to them to serve while also accord due respect for the rights of other students.
The new set of Prefects demonstrated how a normal session of the Parliament is conducted in which a Bill for improved power supply in the School was presented, deliberated and passed into law at second reading.
A total of four Bills were presented during the session.
